It was the felt need of the people of the locality about 45 years ago for a high school in Jeppu, as many girls after completing their elementary education in Infant Mary’s Hr. Pry. School at Jeppu and other neighbourhood schools, discontinued their studies for want of high school in the vicinity. Realizing this need of the weaker sections of the society, inclusive of those form the orphanage, the Sisters of Infant Mary’s Convent, Jeppu ventured into the difficult task of starting a high school.
Students from various higher primary schools of the neighbourhood rushed for admissions to St. Gerosa Girls’ High School. In 1968 the three floor school building was completed, solemnly blessed and was inaugurated.
