The City Hospital Research & Diagnostic Centre was born 20 years ago with the vision of a dreamer in the medical field of Dakshina Kannada, Dr. K. Bhaskar Shetty, a dynamic surgeon. Mr. Nithyaranjandas Hegde, a businessman of repute, joined him as the other director. The sole aim of these visionaries was to provide total Health Care to the people of this part of the country at an affordable cost with the best medical attention and affectionate care.
The hospital started in 1987 with 60 beds has grown today into a 200 bedded multi-specialty hospital catering for all types of specialized treatments to patients.All types of joint replacements, laparoscopic and endoscopic surgeries and interlocking nails, spinal surgeries and also brain surgeries are routinely done.
